With the continuous increase of various large-scale power equipment, many equipment will use higher power UPS. Users can configure for a longer period of time according to their own needs, but they need to match the generator set to provide more continuous power supply in this way. In the high-power UPS power system, the battery configuration needed for a long backup time is often a large footprint and high investment scheme. 1) Standby power is defined as the maximum power that the generator set can continuously operate for 300h under the specified maintenance period and the specified environmental conditions. Generally, it is applicable to accidental emergency conditions with more load changes such as communication and buildings.

 

2) Common power is defined as the maximum power existing in a variable power sequence with unlimited possible operating hours per year between specified maintenance cycles and under specified environmental conditions. Generally, it is applicable to the frequent operation conditions with less load changes, such as factories, mines, military, etc.

 

3) Continuous power is defined as the maximum power existing in a constant power sequence with unlimited possible operation time each year between specified maintenance cycles and under specified environmental conditions. Generally, it is suitable for continuous operation condition with little load change, such as power station or grid connected with city power.

 

For the application of 4stroke electric starting diesel engine in the data center, the commonly used power is generally selected when determining the unit power rating.

 

Due to the importance of data center, electrical redundancy should be considered for power supply equipment under various working conditions. The specific method is to configure the number of units according to the principle of N + 1 or 2n when configuring the high speed 6cylinder diesel engine.

 

Parallel logic control

 

The first is that all units start and operate at the same time after receiving the power-off signal. No matter what the load is, N + 1 powerful 12cylinder diesel engines in parallel always run online at the same time.

The second is to switch on or off the unit according to the load when the unit starts at the same time.

The third is to start only one unit after receiving the power-off signal.

 

For data centers, the first logical control is generally recommended. The advantage is that it can avoid frequent switching in or out of the unit when the load fluctuates rapidly. The internal resistance is reduced when multiple high speed 6cylinder diesel engine generators operate at the same time, which can weaken the influence of harmonics and is conducive to the stable operation of the unit.
